Apprenticeship as an Early Childhood Educator
Early Childhood Educators educate, teach, challenge, motivate, empower, and enchant! Be a learning companion for children and adolescents with and without disabilities in our preschools, our residential groups, and our schools. Be trained in practice!
We offer:
For those studying full-time at a technical college:
- a practice position in the Foundation and
- a mentoring relationship with professionals in the Foundation’s facilities.
For those completing extra-occupational training:
- paid part-time employment as a social worker assistant,
- a mentoring relationship with professionals in the Foundation’s facilities.
For both types of apprenticeship:
- the possibility of voluntary service before the training, in order to get to know the work before applying
- a priority interest in a permanent position and further professional development upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
For the theoretical training, we recommend you....
- the Berufsbildenden Schulen in Quedlinburg,
- the Evangelische Fachschule Wolmirstedt,
- the Europäische Bildungswerk Halberstadt.
The practical work takes place in the different institutions of our Foundation:
- Day care center (Neinstedt, Thale, Weddersleben, Westerhausen, Friedrichsbrunn),
- Living Quarters for the accompaniment and support of children and adolescents with and without disabilities (Neinstedt),
- Living Quarters for unaccompanied minor foreigners (Neinstedt).
The apprenticeship extends over three years, and includes various areas of study and is completed with an exam. The respective technical school will provide further details.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you are entitled to bear the title: „Licensed Early Childhood Educator.“
Your entry requirements for the apprenticeship are largely fulfilled with a General Certificate of Secondary Education and a successful completion as a social assistant. Please note the current requirements of your respective vocational school.
