The day clinic bridges inpatient hospital stays and outpatient follow-up treatment with a primary care physician, specialist, or psychotherapist, or the psychiatric institute outpatient clinic (PIA).
We provide twelve positions for patients with mental illness from the regional area.
Day clinic treatment is useful is outpatient care is not sufficient, but inpatient therapy is no longer necessary. Need for treatment, consent of the patient, and the ability of the patient to speak are required for admission.
The patient must also be able to reliably come and go from the day clinic every day, and can live without supervision at night and on weekends. The day clinic is not appropriate for treatment of every illness. If an addiction (alcohol, drugs, or other controlled substances) is detected, an initial hospitalization and detox is required prior to day clinic treatment.
The facility offers space for adults to be integrated into a personalized therapy program without having to give up their home environment. Treatment is linked to everyday situations and problems that arise. We help patients restore their ability to act independently and improve their quality of life, focussing on expanding skill competencies in order to gain flexibility and stability in everyday situations.

For treatment in our day clinic, you need a hospital admission form from your primary care physician or a specialist. Registration of patients with addictions should be done through an addiction center, which subsequently handles care after patient release.
In your first week with us, we get to know you and understand your condition with various diagnostics, doctor’s consultations, and a nursing admission interview. Beginning on the second day, you will join in some therapy sessions, such as hydrotherapy, exercise therapy, relaxation technique, and the introductory session for occupational therapy.
In the second week, you will begin with discussion group (3-4x/week) and one-on-one psychotherapy sessions (1x/week). Additional therapeutic options, such as horseback riding, are added based on need.
The day clinic is open from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. You will receive breakfast, lunch, and afternoon coffee during the day.
There is no co-payment for the first ten days of care.
An application for reimbursement of travel costs can be submitted to the respective health insurance fund. Treatment may last up to twelve weeks.
