Solar cells with integrated energy storage
16.11.2024
Our latest solar cells not only generate energy, they also store it using integrated capacitor technology.
While conventional self-powered systems consist of solar cells and batteries, our latest modules no longer require external storage.
With an efficiency of 25% and a module thickness of just 0.8 mm, practically all conventional solar cells can be replaced by our new combination modules. The storage technology is fully integrated into the cell so that no external circuitry is required.
When used as a stand-alone solution, the integrated storage units are charged for as long as no energy is required for internal use. Once the storage units are full, the surplus energy is fed into the public grid as usual via the inverter.
Due to the high storage capacity of the specially developed high-performance capacitors, a 5 KW system is usually sufficient to completely supply a 4-person household. A system of this size can store approx. 40 kWh of energy and supply the entire building with electricity all year round, while taking up only 20 square meters of space.
