On Thursday, December 18, 2025, the artist group received a visit from the Sparkassenstiftung der Kreissparkasse Wernigerode.

Malwerk in Wernigerode is an inclusion project run by the Evangelische Stiftung Neinstedt, where people come together to be creative and meet each other. To honor the work of malwerk and support the continuation of the project, Anna Kring, representing the Sparkassenstiftung der Kreissparkasse Wernigerode, presented a symbolic check for €3,500 and said: "This project is close to our hearts because it brings together people with and without disabilities, allowing them to contribute and develop their full potential. In this creative meeting place, works of art are created that enrich the entire region. It is a truly extraordinary project that is unique in our region."

Karsten Noack, the responsible employee at the Evangelische Stiftung Neinstedt, was very pleased and expressed his gratitude with the words:
"We are very happy that the Sparkassenstiftung is supporting our project. Because in doing so, it is bringing something to life, setting something in motion. The project idea arose from the experience that people with complex disabilities are hardly noticed at all in our social environment, or only in terms of their disability.
And inclusion is a word that is used a lot today and is on everyone's lips. But words alone are not enough. Inclusion requires action, people who move from talking to doing, taking responsibility and driving change. We are convinced that every person has creative potential and that anything that is designed can be art. With their emotional, direct approach, people with intellectual disabilities can be inspiring and have an immediate impact with their expression and art. You can see and feel this when you stand in front of the pictures. Currently, this is possible at the Christuskirche, opposite here in Hasserode, in the exhibition "Feuer für Farbe" (Fire for Color). We are delighted that the Sparkassenstiftung here in Wernigerode supports and promotes these ideas and this work."

The malwerk project brings together people from a wide variety of backgrounds and walks of life. The connecting element is their shared artistic activity. People with and without disabilities create works of art together in the fields of painting and drawing under the artistic direction of Korvin Reich. The freelance painter, illustrator, and poet has made a name for himself far beyond the borders of Wernigerode.
The participants get to know each other as individuals with their own desires, dreams, and hopes. Disabilities fade into the background, while personal artistic individuality comes to the fore.

Except during the holidays, the workshops take place on Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the rooms of the support center at Friedrichstraße 104. Anyone interested is welcome to participate.
