The Zum Guten Hirten residential home in Friedrichstrasse is a residential facility for 46 adults with intellectual and multiple disabilities. Four residential communities live in a total of three houses. The individual offers are developed individually and in an age-appropriate manner. Life at Haus Zum Guten Hirten is family-oriented. Great importance is attached to close cooperation with the residents' relatives and carers. With the Montessouri motto "Help me to do it myself", residents gain improved skills and thus greater participation in life. As we attach particular importance to the community, the annual house party is just one of many highlights throughout the year. Creative and sporting activities such as horse riding, swimming, singing and gymnastics round off the program. The motto of the senior citizens' group is: "Fit and healthy into old age."

The Zum Guten Hirten residential home is surrounded by a beautiful garden that invites you to relax and linger. Each shared flat has its own retreat area, where barbecues are often held in summer. Thanks to the excellent transport connections, vacations are planned and implemented in addition to joint excursions.

Haus Zum Guten Hirten is located in the Hasserode district of Wernigerode. Due to its location, the urban infrastructure can be used very well. Two nearby supermarkets offer shopping opportunities, and the city center can be reached quickly and easily by bus, which stops right outside the front door. An in-house bus is available to residents.
