Settlement

People between the ages of 41 and 68 with mental and multiple disabilities live in the intensive assisted living facility at Siedlung 13 in Calvörde in the Börde district. The residential facility is divided into four two-room apartments. Two residents live in each of the apartments, sharing a kitchen and bathroom and each also occupying a single room.
The focus is on providing guidance, assistance and support to enable residents to lead their lives as independently as possible, according to individual help and support plans. They buy their own groceries and cook meals together at the weekends.
Depending on their abilities and skills, the residents take on small and larger practical tasks with the support of the care staff. Joint and individual leisure activities are offered and planned.

Residents take part in external activities according to their interests:

• Literacy courses via the district adult education center
• Disabled sports via the disabled sports association, etc.
• Celebrations and festive events at the nearby residential home

Depending on their individual needs, residents can choose from the following day structure offers:

• Day support from the support center
• Workshop in Bülstringen and Hundisburg

The day structure offers orientation and a variety of opportunities for work, occupation and self-realization.

The apartments on the estate have an inner courtyard where barbecues are held, especially in summer. Residents can also use the facilities at Haus Bonin in Calvörde in their free time.
Haus Bonin has a spacious outdoor area with a swing, table tennis table, seating area and cat house. Activities include choir, dance, handicrafts, devotions, visits to the indoor swimming pool in Haldensleben and regular cinema screenings in the house.
The Circus Bonini, which has now been running for 10 years and is made up of residents and staff, deserves special mention in this context. The regular performances are an eventful highlight for both the audience and the participants.

The estate is located on the outskirts of Calvörde. The church, market, various stores and institutions are all within easy walking distance.
