House Bonin

People aged between 28 and 93 with mental and multiple disabilities live at Haus Bonin in Calvörde in the Börde district. The residential facility is divided into two residential groups and consists of a total of 22 single and three double rooms. In the two residential groups, the residents live on two floors in family-like structures. Each group has a common room and a kitchen for shared leisure activities. The majority of the individual living rooms are equipped with a bathroom with shower. In addition, each residential group has a large bath.

The focus is on guiding and supporting the residents' independence. They buy their own groceries and cook their meals together. Depending on their abilities, the residents take on small and larger household tasks.

The residents take part in external activities depending on their interests:

• Literacy courses via the district adult education center
• Disabled sports through the disabled sports association, etc.

Depending on their individual needs, residents can choose from the following day structure offers:

• Day support from the support center
• Workshop in Bülstringen and Hundisburg

The day structure offers orientation and a variety of opportunities for work, occupation and self-realization.

Haus Bonin has a spacious outdoor area with a swing, table tennis table, seating area and cat house. Activities include choir, dance, handicrafts, devotions, visits to the indoor swimming pool in Haldensleben and regular movie screenings in the house.

The Circus Bonini, which has now been running for 10 years and is made up of residents and staff, deserves special mention in this context. The regular performances are an eventful highlight for both the audience and the participants.

Haus Bonin is very centrally located in the center of Calvörde. The church, market, various stores and institutions are just a few minutes' walk away.
