House Auf dem Helmsteine

Thirteen people with intellectual and physical disabilities live in the “Auf dem Helmsteine” residence. The residence features a large terrace, a pond, and a small garden. There are two living floors with an adjoining kitchen-dining area, restrooms, and five single rooms, as well as a two-room apartment and a studio apartment. All residents participate in an occupational program at the WfbM or a day program during the day. On weekdays, staff members are available to assist residents from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. On weekends and holidays, they are available all day.

The residents of the home form a residential community. Within this framework, each resident takes on specific responsibilities and carries them out with individual guidance and support from staff members. These responsibilities include, among other things, grocery shopping, cooking, household chores, and planning outings. Once a week, the residents meet in the large common room for conversations, casual get-togethers, or games and crafts.

Depending on their individual needs, residents can choose from the following daily activity options:

• Day Program at the Support Center
• Workshop
• Vocational Training Program

The daily activities program provides structure and a wide range of opportunities for work, engagement, and self-fulfillment.

Depending on their individual interests, residents take part in leisure groups such as horse riding, swimming, creative groups and Bible study. They maintain neighborly contacts and friendships. The residents manage their food allowance independently, do their shopping and cook for themselves. This is done with individual help. They enjoy using the terrace for cozy get-togethers and barbecues. A hobby room is available for arts and crafts. The residents go on excursions, parties and vacation trips together.

The house Auf dem Helmsteine is located in a quiet residential area in Neinstedt.

The traditional village of Neinstedt offers a good club structure and a simple supply infrastructure. The village has a small supermarket, an organic farm store with a bakery and café, a bank, a post office and a small restaurant, as well as a medical center and a pharmacy. The train connection takes you to Thale or the world heritage town of Quedlinburg in 5 minutes.
