The Children’s Day Care Center Frieden lies in the residential area „On the Height“ in Thale, nearby the elementary school and college-prep high school. The park-like open space of approx. 10,000 m2 (11,000 yds2), as well as the proximity to the forest, offer the children much freedom to move, discover, and experiment.

We work according to the pedagogical concept of the situational approach. Observing situations, choosing educational goals, designing projects, learning from experience, and reflecting on work is a fundamental part of our daily work.

Successful language development is another essential project of our work. We seek to inspire a passion for language, as well as the ability to communicate and converse. Language is taught to the children holistically and through various means, not detached or as a traditional classroom setting. Children love the rhythms of rhymes and counting. Reading books, talking to each other, role-playing, singing, circle and movement games, hand and finger puppets, narrative boxes, and much more are integrated into our daily work.

A special and central aspect of our language work lies in the intensive early introduction of English. This is visible right from the start in our entrance area, pictograms in the rooms, on the weather calendar, and much more.

In a playful way, our children are introduced to the English language. We read books, sing songs, learn games and poems – all in English.

We also attach great importance to healthy nutrition. Children’s groups can cook together in an specially equipped children’s kitchen, and learn a lot about a balanced diet.

We care for children within the framework of all laws and regulations, according to SGB XII or SGB VIII.
